Installing Modpacks on Your Minecraft Server

Modpacks are curated collections of mods bundled together for a specific gameplay experience. Popular packs like All the Mods, RLCraft, and Better Minecraft are easy to install through your Pexnode panel.

Using the Modpack Installer

1Open the Modpacks Tab

Click Modpacks in the sidebar of your server panel.

2Browse or Search

Browse popular modpacks or use the search bar to find a specific one. Results come from Modrinth’s modpack catalog.

3Select a Version

Click on a modpack to see available versions. Choose the one that matches your desired Minecraft version.

4Install

Click Install. The panel will automatically: download all mod files, set the correct server engine (Forge/Fabric), and configure startup parameters.

5Start Your Server

The server will start with the modpack. First startup may take a few minutes as it generates configs.

Warning: Installing a modpack will replace your existing mods and server jar. Create a backup first if you have important data.

Modpack RAM Requirements

Modpacks generally need more RAM than vanilla or plugin servers:

Modpack SizeExamplesRecommended RAM
Light (10-50 mods)Better Minecraft, Cobblemon4-6 GB
Medium (50-150 mods)All the Mods, Enigmatica6-8 GB
Heavy (150+ mods)RLCraft, All the Mods 98-12 GB
Tip: If your server is running slow with a modpack, consider upgrading your plan for more RAM. You can upgrade instantly from your billing panel.

Client Setup

Players need the same modpack installed on their client. We recommend using a modpack launcher:

  • Modrinth App — Clean, modern launcher with 1-click modpack install
  • CurseForge App — Large modpack catalog
  • Prism Launcher — Open-source, supports multiple mod sources
