Using the Startup Wizard

When you first open your Minecraft server on the Pexnode panel, the Startup Wizard guides you through the essential configuration steps so your server is ready to play in minutes.

How the Wizard Works

The wizard appears automatically when you access a new server. It walks you through a series of steps, and you can go back to change any setting before applying. Once you click Finish, the wizard configures everything and starts your server.

Note: You can re-run the wizard later from the Settings tab if you want to reset your server configuration.

Java Edition Wizard Steps

The Java wizard has 9 steps:

1Welcome

Overview of what the wizard will configure. Click Next to begin.

2Gameplay

Choose your game mode (Survival, Creative, Adventure, Spectator) and difficulty (Peaceful, Easy, Normal, Hard).

3Server Type

Select your server engine — Vanilla, Paper, Purpur, Forge, or Fabric. Paper is recommended for most servers as it offers the best performance and plugin support.

4Modpack (optional)

If you chose Forge or Fabric, you can search and install a modpack from Modrinth right here. Skip this step for Paper/Purpur/Vanilla.

5World Settings

Configure your world — seed, level type (Default, Flat, Large Biomes, Amplified), and whether to generate structures.

6Players

Set max player count, enable/disable whitelist, PvP, and online-mode (cracked server support).

7Performance

Adjust view distance, simulation distance, and entity limits. Lower values = better TPS on busy servers.

8Extras

Optional settings like enabling command blocks, setting MOTD (Message of the Day), and spawn protection radius.

9Review & Apply

Summary of all your choices. Click Finish to apply and start your server.

Bedrock Edition Wizard Steps

The Bedrock wizard is simpler with 5 steps:

1Welcome

Introduction and overview.

2Gameplay

Game mode (Survival, Creative, Adventure) and difficulty settings.

3World

World seed, and basic world generation options.

4Players

Max players, whitelist, and online-mode.

5Review & Apply

Confirm settings and start your server.

Tip: If you’re unsure about any setting, the defaults work great for most servers. You can always change them later from the panel.
